Shop, eat and drink in the capital
Cardiff's city centre has its award-winning St David's shopping centre, array of independents in beautiful Victorian arcades, Morgan Quarter and iconic indoor market for shoppers and foodies alike.
Most of our team tend to choose the independent eateries. The Spanish Bar 44 and Asador 44 are favourites and Casanova is a city institution for authentic, excellent Italian cuisine. The Potted Pig offers feasts in a former bank vault beneath street level, Pasture is best known for its steaks and its small plates sister, Parallel, changes menu daily and pairs it with wines. Curado also has a cute bar - Vermut - which is good fun: let them know it's your first visit and they'll provide tasters to find your perfect vermouth.
Café by day and bar by night, Bacareto is a Venetian-inspired delight and for coffee, try Uncommon Ground, Bigmoose, Little Man Coffee or Corner Coffee. Interesting independent cocktail bars include Lab 22 or book the cool speakeasy Dead Canary - if you can find the secret entrance on Barrack Lane (shhhh!).
Cardiff has a reputation for warmly welcoming everyone everywhere and also has a vibrant and well-established LGBT+ community and scene, from pubs, clubs and bars to the city's Queer Emporium.

Arts, heritage & culture
Cardiff Castle is a feast for the eyes as well as a great place to visit inside and out. Why not pick up the water taxi to Cardiff Bay with plenty of places for food and to visit, including the gorgeous Wales Millennium Centre (for a show or not) and the Norwegian Church. Live entertainment options include comedy at the Glee Club or, back in the city centre, check what's on at the New Theatre, while Womanby Street is the city centre's live music hub.

We have two golf clubs at five and ten minutes' drive - Caerphilly and Whitchurch
If you are after something a bit more active, Cardiff International White Water offers white water rafting and tubing, paddleboarding, indoor surfing and more with activities suitable for age 6 and up.
For the adventurous there's Zip World Tower 45 minutes away, and south Wales' highest mountain - Pen-y-Fan - is just an hour and a quarter away in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park (just be sure to choose the route that's right for you - some are harder than others!).

We want to make them as welcome as you are. As well as grounds to run around in, they are also welcome to join you in all areas except the restaurant.
