lets get to know our team a little better
This is our team of amazing woman who are on hand to turn your Pinterest wedding dreams into reality.
Job Title & Venue: Senior Wedding & Events Coordinator (think senior is more to do with age than status 😳😂), Coed-Y-Mwstwr Hotel.
How long have you been in the role: Almost twelve years at the Coed-Y-Mwstwr however over 20 years experience in the job role
What do you love about your job: The fact that it doesn't always feel like a job (don't tell my boss that! 😏) It is so enjoyable meeting lots of different people and personalities in beautiful surroundings, whilst helping them plan for such happy occasions.
What's been your favourite wedding trend: Being from farming background I would have to say the 'Country Chic' styles, particularly when it involves bales of straw and picnic style catering.
Favourite celebrity wedding & why: Peter Andre and Katie Price, chavtastic!
Whose royal dress was better, Kate or Meghan? Kate without a doubt!
Favourite part of the wedding planning process: Helping wedding couples achieve their own individual ideas however in a realistic way
What advice would you give a bride in the current climate: Health and happiness comes above all else, therefore weddings can be special regardless of the number of guests that are there and remember why you want to get married....love ❤️
Favourite thing to do when you are not working: Spending time with my teenage Sons (not too much time 🤭), cooking, walking my Labrador and socialising with Family and Friends when plenty of vino is flowing 🍷
Job Title & Venue: Wedding & Events Coordinator (& the face behind our Coed Social Media)
How long have you been in the role: 1 year - COVID-19 was my first year in the role .. what a year its been... but I wouldn't change it for the world. With that being said I have been based at the hotel for 7+ years (Part time and full time in amongst studies).
What do you love about your job: Seeing all the beautiful designs, colours, styles! I have never seen the hotel look the same and that speaks volumes!
What's been your favourite wedding trend: Real flowers, everywhere and anywhere - Beams, archs, clouds, sculptures (oh and long banqueting tables)
Favourite celebrity wedding & why: Hailey & Justin Bieber - 100000% that veil was everything!
Whos royal dress was better, Kate or Meghan? Meghan 10000% (not just because we share the same name!) that evening dress was to die for!!
Favourite part of the wedding planning process: The smiles at the very end after months of planning and hard work.
What advice would you give a bride in the current climate: Don't panic, avoid any rash decisions and don't let COVID dullen your wedding planning sparkle. It will happen regardless of the day, month, year and when it does happen it will be just as special as it would've been originally (if not more!)
Favourite thing to do when you are not working: DATE NIGHTS, shopping or binge watching reality TV (Basic girly girl!)
Job Title & Venue: Wedding & Events Coordinator At The Bear Hotel, Cowbridge
How long have you been in the role: 2 Years
What do you love about your job: Without a doubt is has to be the people! Seeing the final product of months, sometimes many years of coordinating with our couples is the best feeling. It is certainly a very rewarding job. I still have a lump in my throat during a ceremony! My favourite part of any wedding day.
What's been your favourite wedding trend: Hmmm this is a tough one, we see so many trends come and go ..and then come back around again!
I would say muted tones are a firm favourite for me at any wedding. Dior chairs (yes chairs..its all about that chairs!) i also love the oversized floral pieces that we are seeing coming through and certainly a little bit of added sparkle. Ultra-modern with a classic twist!
Favourite celebrity wedding & why: This is easy. Kim & Kanye West! They started the flower wall trend and I loved everything from the dress to the long cathedral veil to the venue and her make up.
Whos royal dress was better, Kate or Meghan? Kate! Meghan's dress was a little plain although such a beautiful veil. Her evening dress was however a firm favourite.
Favourite part of the wedding planning process: Meeting our couples at first visit and going through final details...this is when you can really see the planning coming together!
What advice would you give a bride in the current climate: My advice would be to remain positive, its an extremely difficult time however your wedding coordinator will be able to support you and give you the very best advice! i would also say to tune out of negativity on social media...groups especially.
It will cause anxiety and sometimes doesn't provide correct information. Keep in touch with your venue and only seek expert advice.
Favourite thing to do when you are not working: Spending time with my children Ava & Oliver. Socialising with my friends over a bottle of bubbles & shopping. By night indulge in a variety of reality tv... highly recommend married at first sight Australia! (perfect lockdown binge watch)
Merghan Jones (Meg)

What do you love about your job: Accommodating all brides and grooms on individual budgets, everyone should have their dream day and not think we are beyond their dreams.
What’s been your favourite wedding trend: Trees. I can’t get enough of the outside indoors. Large blossom trees, trees as centrepieces, the more the merrier.
Favourite celebrity wedding & why: Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas in 2000. First celebrity Wedding that really caught my eye, The venue , (the Plaza) , the flowers , the cake , the guest list – I loved it all and still have the Hello magazines.
Who’s royal dress was better, Kate or Meghan? Meghan’s was beautiful, but for me Kate, more classic and I think it fit her figure better.
Favourite part of the wedding planning process: I love taking my brides or grooms to Marquee when its dressed or to the Wyndham when we are all finished and letting them see how we have created their vision. Usually there’s tears, happy tears from me and them. I also make a point of saying goodbye at the end of the Wedding Day, often after speeches, usually a quick cwtch and I say “enjoy every moment, this will be the quickest day of your lives”.
What advice would you give a bride in the current climate: You will get your day and it will be beautiful. It may not be exactly as you planned or exactly when you wanted, but we will get you there.
Favourite thing to do when you are not working: I love getting out to the beach, rain or shine, Summer or Winter, I’m happier by the sea, but I also have a healthy addiction to Crime documentaries on Netflix!
